A Beginner's Guide To Glass Pipes

When it comes to cannabis consumption, glass pipes are a popular choice. Whether you prefer smoking or dabbing, glass is a common material for making pipes and water bongs. Though there are many types of pipes for different uses, glass is an ideal material for smoking because it does not affect the flavor of your cannabis flower as other materials might. Plus, glass can be colored and shaped into beautiful designs.

If you're new to cannabis consumption or just new to a glass pipe, you may want to check out this beginner's guide to smoking with glass. In this guide, we'll cover the basics of glass pipes, what type of pipe is right for you, how to properly clean your pipe and more about lighting up with a lighter or hemp wick.

Glass pipes can come in all shapes and sizes, but many of them share some basic design principles. Most glass pipes have a bowl shape where the herb is placed before lit by a flame. The bowl has an airtight design, so when you inhale through the mouthpiece, hot air goes through the bowl and causes the cannabis flower to burn.

You may be familiar with the old-school glass pipe. It is a small, usually hand-held, device that consists of a bowl, chamber and mouthpiece. The bowl is where the marijuana flower goes. The chamber is where the smoke builds and flows. The mouthpiece is where you inhale from. Most modern glass pipes are made from hand-blown borosilicate glass, which can come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Many even feature intricate designs and patterns.
How to smoke from a glass pipe:

Hold your pipe with one hand (left or right doesn't matter) with your thumb covering the carb. Use your other hand to light the bowl with a lighter and inhale. Do not inhale too intensely-it makes it harder to take in all that smoke. When you're ready to finish your hit, simply remove your thumb from the carb hole so air can enter through that opening instead. If there is no carb on your pipe, merely remove the flame when you want to clear out the smoke-this is called a "hotter" hit. You can also refill bowls of glass pipes over time, commonly known as a "rebowl" or hotboxing.

Glass pipes are often portable and easy to use. Most are straightforward: you load them up with cannabis, light, and inhale slowly through the mouthpiece. Some pipes also have carb holes, which allow you to clear out all the smoke in the chamber by covering it with your thumb as you inhale, and then releasing it once you have taken your hit (therefore they are sometimes called "carbs" or "carburetors"). Glass pipes may look different than what grandma used back in her day. Still, they work in much the same way. Visit Here: Tank Glass
